Lilly's World Cafe
Situation: The Lilly’s World Café concept has a world theme based on philanthropy. At any given time, the restaurant will be donating a portion of its proceeds to a rotating list of children from 22 different countries throughout Africa, Asia and South America. With its concept already in mind, Lilly’s World Café came to Quantified Marketing Group for its restaurant design.
Solution:
After conducting extensive cultural research on the 22 countries that Lilly’s World Café will benefit, QMG’s concept development team identified many similarities. These similarities were incorporated into the restaurant’s interior design to establish a flow between the various countries represented within the restaurant.
The design that the team developed for Lilly’s World Café is influenced by the ancient civilizations of Africa, Asia and South America. Elements such as bamboo flooring, printed wall paper and distressed wood were used to contribute to this old-world feel. Certain areas within the restaurant, including the bar, lounge, dessert bar and dining rooms, take on characteristics of specific countries or regions, while other spaces remain neutral, avoiding a themed look.
While the design of the restaurant has an old-world feel, the exterior is much more contemporary. It is meant to represent the world as a whole while the interior represents the various cultures found within that world. Guests are reminded of this global theme by an antique-finished map in the dome of the entrance area.
Result: Lilly’s World Café now has an established restaurant design. The 22 countries that are represented throughout the restaurant flow together in one space, creating a global environment representative of the restaurant’s world theme and philanthropic nature.
