Challenge: Karu&Y is the largest restaurant investment in the history of South Florida, reaching 20 million dollars. They had a vision of becoming the most lavish restaurant and entertainment destination in South Florida history, they just needed a strategy. QMG was able to help them define their vision and to build a brand that will outlast the lifespan of the typical Miami restaurant.
Solution: The first step was to define the brand and create an integrated marketing plan. Then QMG provided them with a marketing strategy and helped them to maintain and manage their brand. An essential part of this was to create an interactive web site that would allow people to experience the ambiance of the restaurant. QMG also designed their custom, hand-built, embroidered menus.
Keeping with Karu&Y’s brand image of sense and sensuality, QMG designed a revolutionary marketing kit that incorporates all 5 of the senses. The kit was covered in a heat sensitive material that revealed the artwork and copy when touched. When opened, there was a waft of vanilla and a voiceover that invited one to join Karu&Y for the final sense, taste.
Result: Karu&Y combines two concepts. Karu is an upscale restaurant and Y is a lavish ultra lounge. They also include a private dining area, and exclusive VIP lounge, and entertainment room and an outside totem garden. The largest independent restaurant investment in South Florida history is set to open in June 2006.
