Carlos'n Charlie's Retail


Carlos‘n Charlie’s, also owned and operated by Grupo Anderson’s, is a concept based on the unique personality of the company’s founder, Carlos Anderson. Carlos, who traveled frequently and brought pieces of his experiences back into his restaurants, was a genuine friend to every person he met and had a charisma that made the strange seem familiar and the normal seem out of the ordinary. In 2005, Grupo Anderson’s approached Quantified Marketing Group with the challenge of developing a design for the restaurant’s retail space that would reflect these characteristics.

The result was an absurd combination of trinkets, postcards and photos, in a black, white and green color scheme, illustrating the fun-loving and travel-bound life Carlos Anderson lived . The space is also accented with giant suitcases that serve as visual merchandising displays, antiqued wall textures and vintage wallpaper patterns. Unexpected elements, such as the 3-D floor decals, dressing rooms with fake cameras, and chandelier and disco ball light fixtures help to create a scene that can simply be described as “Grandma’s House (on Acid).”
