Tantra Restaurant and Lounge
Challenge: With its sensual new age music, live grass floor, softly illuminated marble water wall and fiber optic starlit ceiling, Tantra Restaurant and Lounge has long been a hot spot for celebrities and jetsetters. Yet, in Miami Beach, where competition is fierce among sophisticated restaurants and night spots, Tantra was becoming more known for its nightlife than its exotic aphrodisiac cuisine. Tantra approached Quantified Marketing Group to initiate a public relations campaign that would generate coverage in regional and national media outlets about its inventive cuisine and spirits.
Solution: Consumers and media outlets are intrigued by unique culinary concepts. Tantra’s one-of-kind aphrodisiac dishes were developed by some of the best chefs in the nation, including Michael Jacobs, named one of the nation’s “rising stars” by Restaurants and Institutions; Michelle Bernstein, now the executive chef of Azul and a Food Network personality; and Willis Loughhead, who was nominated for a Beard Foundation National Award and is now an executive chef at the Ritz-Carlton in Coconut Grove. With this in mind, we created a series of story angles centered on Tantra’s aphrodisiac menu items, the chefs who crafted them and how the dishes are prepared and presented.
Result: The media relations strategy resulted in coverage in regional and national media outlets that positioned Tantra as one of the most innovative restaurant concepts in the nation.
