Allow Let’s Eat! to be your sous chef for the holidays

Tampa, Fla – Marni Poe and Melissa Slack know the staple meal of the year in American households can often be the most stress-inducing.

So the Tampa mothers, who make it possible for dozens of busy parents to put home-cooked meals on their dinner tables most days of the week, are now simplifying one of the most complicated meals of the year: Thanksgiving dinner.

The founders of the dinner preparation company called Let’s Eat! decided it was particularly important to help households put the focus back on family rather than fixings during the Thanksgiving holiday.

“Not only is Thanksgiving a complicated meal, but often, you are spending all your time in the kitchen cooking and missing out on quality time with the family and friends who have come to see you,” Slack said. “Let’s Eat! really allows you to prepare ahead of time and enjoy your family and friends during the holiday.”

Poe and Slack have crafted a menu for the month of November that features five traditional Thanksgiving dishes that are tried and tested recipes which take only minutes to prepare.

The sweet potato soufflé at Let’s Eat! is a creative way to enjoy a common Thanksgiving accompaniment. The broccoli, cheese and rice casserole makes an ideal Thanksgiving dinner side dish with its chunks of broccoli florets, melted cheese, wild rice and water chestnuts.

“The sweet potato soufflé and broccoli, rice and cheese casserole were recipes that come from my family,” Poe said. “We’re pleased to make some of the meals I grew up on available to our customers.”

The pumpkin soup at Let’s Eat! is the perfect way to start Thanksgiving dinner with its creamy texture and fragrant aroma. Combining two of the most popular holiday pies into one creamy dessert, Let’s Eat! is featuring a pumpkin cheese cake pie, a traditional Thanksgiving treat in both Poe and Slack’s household.

Poe and Slack are especially delighted with their recipe for cranberry-stuffed turkey medallions which offers customers a unique twist on the Thanksgiving main course.

“It uses all the traditional Thanksgiving ingredients – the bread stuffing, dried cranberries and chopped pecans in the turkey breasts – but it’s a nice alternative for a smaller family that may not want to roast a 10 or 20 pound turkey,” she said. “They are also great for serving as a heavy hors d'oeuvre because you can slice them into medallions and they look beautiful with the different colors and textures.”

December’s menu also will feature special holiday dishes, including Maryland-style crab cakes, sun-dried tomato and basil spread and pork tenderloin with apple marinade, entrées that are ideal for entertaining.

“It’s all about helping people host nice holiday parties and offering dishes that are versatile.” Slack said. “It’s also all about presentation during the holidays, so they are all entrées that look attractive.”

The planning, shopping, chopping, slicing, dicing and clean up is eliminated when Let’s Eat! is your sous chef for the holidays. Within the commercial kitchen at Let’s Eat!, customers will find all the ingredients, utensils and accessories they need to prepare each holiday dish right at their fingertips.

“Each of those holiday meals at Let’s Eat! is going to take you 5 to 7 minutes to make versus the hours you would spend on your own looking for the ingredients in the grocery store, lining them up at home and cleaning up your kitchen,” Slack said.

Although most of the fuss centers on Thanksgiving dinner during the month of November, Poe and Slack know families still count on Let’s Eat! to provide flavorful and wholesome meals for weekday dinners.

“That’s why only half of the menu is Thanksgiving focused,” Slack said. “We still want to make sure we’re delivering our core service, making Monday through Friday meals easy to prepare, and we want our customers to have a diverse enough menu so they can put meals together for an entire month.”

Let’s Eat! isn’t just giving the gift of good food and quality time with family this holiday season. The dinner preparation shop is selling gift certificates and gift baskets that feature condiments and toppings that include bruschetta, marinades and dipping oils.

“This is a great gift for the busy mom, and it’s great for a college student,” Slack said. “Men are buying them for their wives, and children are buying them for their elderly parents.”
