Cancun, Mexico – As part of a
continued U.S. brand expansion plan, Grupo Anderson’s, Mexico’s largest
restaurant group and parent company of World Famoso restaurant and bar,
Señor Frog’s, announces it will open its second stateside location in
Honolulu in May 2006.
The Frog’s new casa will be located in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping
Center, which is undergoing an $84 million renovation. Situated
along the heart of Waikiki Beach, in between the Sheraton Waikiki and
The Royal Hawaiian, Señor Frog’s Honolulu is set in a prime spot for
both tourists and locals alike.
Tonatiuh (“Tona”) Risso Breton is the general manager of Señor Frog’s
Cancun and will relocate to the Hawaiian Islands to execute the opening
of the concept’s latest location.
“This is a very exciting time for Señor Frog’s and Grupo Anderson’s,”
said Risso. “The Honolulu site promises to bring a taste of our
Mexican cuisine and entertainment to a new corner of the globe.”
The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center will boast high-end designers,
lifestyle stores, dining and entertainment options. Kate Spade,
Cartier, Hermes, Tourneau, and Waikiki cultural shows are just a
sampling of the retailers slated for the new facility. The
multi-million dollar renovation is part of a series of ongoing projects
aimed at revitalizing the Waikiki Beach area.
Señor Frog’s is open daily for lunch and dinner, (if you stay until
closing, you can even have a really, really early breakfast) and serves
a variety of items with unique hints of Mexican authenticity.
There are currently 12 ½ Señor Frog’s located in popular tourist
destinations throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and South America.
This year, Grupo Anderson’s made its debut into the United States (we
just got our Green Card) with its Myrtle Beach opening in June 2005;
following the Señor Frog’s opening in Honolulu, the concept will expand
into Las Vegas in late 2006. Average unit volume for each
location is $5 million, and projected sales for the U.S. are estimated
between $8 and $20 million, based on the locations selected. Grupo Anderson’s, the parent company of Señor Frog’s, was founded in
1963 and has since grown to be Mexico’s largest and most reputable
restaurant company. Guided by the good-natured humor and
steadfast philosophies of its founder, Carlos Anderson, the company has
experienced tremendous growth and continues to expand throughout
Mexico, South America and the Caribbean.
Based in Cancun, Grupo Anderson’s has developed several successful
restaurant concepts, including Carlos’n Charlie’s and Señor Frog’s –
names that are recognized worldwide today. Other brands include
El Tumbaburros, El Shrimp Bucket, Mama Roma, Come ‘n Eat, So Good, and
Glazz, an upscale Asian restaurant and ultra lounge in Cancun.
