New strategy expands reach of Nature’s Table brand

June 23, 2005

The popular healthy-minded chain looks to expand into new territories of the United States

Orlando, FL
- Nature’s Table Cafe, known for its freshly made alternatives to fast food, will adopt a new marketing and media strategy as a means expand into new territories. The plan calls for the chain to work closely with seasoned operators and create corporate stores and target areas, through which the company hopes to establish its own brand and connect better with a larger customer base.

“We’ve had wonderful success with our inline stores,” says Rich Wagner, Senior Vice-President of Nature’s Table franchise company. “The market has responded well to our brand.  We feel that we can certainly duplicate the success elsewhere that we are currently enjoying.”

For the strategy, seasoned operators will be carefully chosen by Nature’s Table and will work closely with the company to create stores of combined vision and appearance. The corporate stores will include both classic Nature’s Table outlets and their B&I stores. Investments for the complete inline stores will run the interested party approximately $150,000; fees to start up a B&I store range from $50,000 to $150,000.

“We are looking for operators that have the financial capacity, infrastructure and a shared vision of our brand,” says Wagner. “So far the stores have returned sales-to-investment ratios of 2.5-to-1 to 4.5-to-1.”

Wagner expects the new strategy to remain in a constant state of evolution and refinement until his company’s brand meets the needs and demands of the marketplace. He also believes the selected operators will play a key role in this process, both by honing the company’s current brand rules and by supplying useful feedback to help the company’s brand grow collectively.

“A lot of companies get hung up on a number and treat it like a race,” says Wagner. “We can certainly maintain a healthy growth rate with an area developer that is both fiscally and physically responsible.”
