Times Grill charges into Jacksonville with char-grilled burgers

Jacksonville, Fla.On May 7, Times Grill will make its debut in the sunshine state in Jacksonville, Florida. This family-oriented casual dining restaurant is opening four locations throughout Florida in Jacksonville and Pensacola.

Founded in 1994 in Louisiana, Times Grill currently has four locations open in Mandeville, Slidell and Baton Rouge. The Jacksonville opening will mark the restaurant’s first out-of-state venture. Last year, $24 billion was spent in Florida’s restaurants.[1] In Jacksonville alone, diners spent $1.39 billion.[2]

“We are excited to be able to expand our restaurant concept in Florida,” said President and CEO Kelly Harris. “We’re looking forward to joining the Jacksonville community with our first restaurant opening on Baymeadows Rd. We see Jacksonville as a great growth avenue for the company. We are planning on opening two more locations by the end of the year in this city.”

Times Grill restaurant has more than 20 specialty burgers on its menu. All of the restaurant’s burger patties are hand-made daily, and the burgers are char-grilled and made-to-order. Some of the restaurant’s distinctive burgers include the half-pound Times Burger™; Cajun Sunset™, seasoned with Creole spices and topped with a pan-fried egg; and the one-and-a-half pound Wall of Fame Burger, where guests can become part of the Times Grill Wall of Fame if they finish it.

Times Grill’s menu also includes appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, entrees, desserts, old-fashioned malts, shakes and floats, as well as a full-bar for its guests. The menu in each Times Grill location represents the culture of its city. For example, the Jacksonville menu features a timeline with the city’s historic dates and landmarks.

The culture and direction of Times Grill has been guided by Harris since 2006. He brings more than 30 years of restaurant experience to Times Grill, including 10 years spent as the chief operations officer of a large regional chain.

Outside of work, Harris is involved in philanthropic pursuits. Throughout the years, he has held numerous positions with non-profit organizations, including his most recent involvement as the board president for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Northeast Florida.

His values have inspired him to develop a work environment that empowers the Times Grill staff. The ideal teammate at Times Grill is courageous, competitive, responsible, respectful, goal driven, optimistic and seeks personal development.

With the Jacksonville opening, three non-profits from the area will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from the restaurant’s community outreach events scheduled in May. All proceeds will benefit Dreams Come True, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Times Grill will open its next two Jacksonville locations in August and September.

The Pensacola location is slated to open in June.
