The Mongols invade the Sunshine State

HuHot Mongolian Grill brings create-your-own-stir-fry restaurant to Florida.

Orlando, FL  – HuHot Grill offers Central Floridians a unique dining experience with create-your-own-stir-fry.

Guests are encouraged to customize their meals and portions at this casual, full-service Asian restaurant by choosing from a selection of exotic meats and seafood and fresh vegetables, noodles and specialty sauces. Patrons turn their raw ingredients over to a chef who prepares their stir-fry creation on a hibachi grill within HuHot’s exhibition-style kitchen.

Combining stir-frying – the centuries-old Mongolian method of cooking – with a variety of mix-it-yourself ingredients, HuHot offers healthier meals than typical casual restaurant concepts and allows guests to be more involved in the cooking process.

“The menu choices are literally limitless, and the dining experience is very unique,” said Andy Vap founder and CEO of HuHot. “The concept appeals to anyone with a little sense of adventure and a palate for good food.”

HuHot’s refrigerated meat bar is stocked with conventional staples, such as chicken, beef, shrimp, and pork, and specialty meat and seafood options, including lamb, buffalo, alligator, yak and calamari. The fresh vegetable bar offers more than 30 options, including tofu, and Chinese, Pad Thai and Yakisoba noodles.

The specialty sauce bar provides patrons a pan-Asian sampling of sauces with 12 prepared sauces such as Black Thai Peanut, a creamy blend of peanuts, coconut milk, mild chilies and fresh lime juice; Mean Bean Garlic Sauce, a moderately spicy black bean and chili sauce; and Five Village Fire Szechuan, a spicy chili sauce with soy and tomato sauces, garlic, rice vinegar and more chilies.

The sauce bar is also stocked with 12 create-your-own sauce ingredients, including garlic chili sauce, garlic broth, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, sherry, ginger broth, hot chili oil, garlic oil, lemon juice, sesame oil, jalapeno juice and lime juice. Each sauce blend is accompanied by appropriate meat and vegetable pairings based on the chef’s recommendations.

The 4,300 square-foot space has colorful wall murals featuring warrior figures and contemporary décor, including chrome and glass. The Mongolian-warrior theme is even built into HuHot’s menus, which likens the dining experience to a six-step advance into battle.

Egg rolls, wontons and pot sticker appetizers are referred to as The First Conquest. The specialty sauce bar is dubbed the The Essential Weapon. The dessert offerings, such as do-it-yourself s’mores and cheese cake rangoon, are called The Final Pillage.

A full-service bar and six plasma television screens televise sporting events throughout the day, including the NFL Sunday Ticket, making HuHot an ideal place to catch a game.  HuHot’s signature drinks include fresh ginger soda, a sake smoothie and Tazo Tea, Happy hour runs from 4 p.m. until close.

The Montana-based chain, that has 20 units in the Midwest, opened its first Florida location near Orlando’s Florida Mall. Orlando’s HuHot is owned and operated by CBN Enterprises, a business group comprised of brothers Raman Singh and Rishi Singh, Dr. Ajaypratap Bajwa and Darren Naftzger. They teamed up in 2005 to open a group of HuHot franchises throughout Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey and overseas.

CBN Enterprises, along with HuHot’s general manager, Jason Newton, have more than 20 years of combined restaurant industry experience. Naftzger previously owned a restaurant from 1990 until 2005. Newton was the general manager for a chain of Southern BBQ eateries, successfully managing their expansion in Central Florida.

CBN Enterprises is planning to open 10 HuHot locations in Florida. New Florida locations are slated to open in Brandon, Wesley Chapel and Bradenton within the year.

The average lunch check at HuHot runs around $7.99, and the average dinner check is $11.99. HuHot’s operating hours are 11a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
