I'm confident that our last newsletter was able to whet your appetite about the services Quantified Marketing Group's new beverage development department can provide.

In this newsletter, I am excited to announce the newest member of our family and the new and exciting endeavor our firm is about to embark on.

After 18 years with Y partnership, previously YPB&R, Dennis Marzella has resigned his partnership post as executive vice president of strategic planning, branding and research at one of the most accomplished hospitality and entertainment marketing firms in the nation to spearhead similar functions at Quantified Marketing Group.

Regarded as one of the foremost travel experts in the nation, Dennis will also help Quantified Marketing Group venture into the hotel arena by cultivating a new division focused on enhancing food and beverage programs in hotels around the world.

With Dennis' deep understanding of consumer trends and the hotel industry, coupled with our expertise in the restaurant consulting arena, we intend to help hotels create destination restaurants on hotel properties – a dream many hoteliers have had unfulfilled for decades.

Experiencing exploding rates of growth and a shortage of premium space, fast casual restaurants are being forced to consider non-traditional venues for expansion. Quantified Marketing Group’s founder and CEO Aaron Allen was recently quoted in a story in Fast Casual Magazine that examines the opportunities for success that airports, hospitals stadiums and college campus locations can provide for fast-casual restaurants, including smaller investments, increased brand exposure and a captive demographic eager to spend money.

Dennis Marzella - Vice President of Research and Brand Strategy
A leading hospitality strategist and consumer behavior and travel expert, Dennis Marzella will join Quantified Marketing Group to lead development of robust marketing intelligence systems, including consumer behavior tracking studies and custom research, designed to help restaurant clients adjust to changing market conditions and identify consumer receptivity to new restaurant concepts offering innovative cuisine.

He will also spearhead Quantified Marketing Group's hotel food and beverage division, a department designed to improve food and beverage functions, categories and price points within hotels which have struggled for decades because of outdated food and beverage operations and poor internal marketing.

Dennis spent the last 18 years at Y partnership, previously YPB&R, one of the most accomplished integrated marketing firms in the U.S. specializing in the travel, leisure and entertainment industries.

While Dennis served as executive vice president of strategic planning, branding and research at YPB&R, he also co-authored and developed the annual YPB&R/Yankelovich, Inc. National Leisure Travel Monitor and the National Business Travel Monitor, acclaimed barometers of the changing lifestyle, attitudes and travel preferences of Americans.

A periodic columnist for Travel Marketing Decisions and Hotel & Motel Management Magazine, Dennis is also a frequent speaker at travel industry symposia throughout the country, including ATME Annual Conference, Crown Luxury Collection, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, American Express Travel Agent Partners Conference, the National Ski Area Association Conference, Hotel Design Conference in Las Vegas, Hilton International General Managers Conference, Relais & Chateaux General Managers Conference and the LA Real Estate and Investment Conference. He also served on Getty's Hotel of Tomorrow task force in 2006 and 2007.

Dennis, who developed a story-based approach to brand strategy with a team at i.d.e.a.s. at Disney MGM Studios, cut his teeth at Leo Burnett Worldwide, one of the largest advertising companies in the world with a client portfolio that has included McDonald's and Walt Disney. He also played a key executive role in corporate development for Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Viking Line.

Dennis was a founding faculty member and a tenured associate professor of marketing for the School of Hospitality Management at Florida International University where he also served as a consultant to hotels, cruise lines and destination promotion boards. The foundation marketing research Marzella completed during his time at Florida International University was a prelude to the development of South Beach.


Paula Michaels - Senior Brand Manager
With more than 11 years of marketing, communication, brand development and account management experience and seven years of operational restaurant experience, Paula Michaels has been hired as a senior brand manager to oversee account management, marketing and brand strategy for various clients at Quantified Marketing Group. For the last five years, Paula managed the marketing, communications and programming efforts of Hughes/HD supply, a Fortune 500 company and subsidiary of Home Depot. She also gained extensive hospitality marketing experience at Patterson Back Communications and served as the senior account executive for Universal Orlando Park and Resorts. She supervised marketing and creative development on venue, vacation and destination collateral and advertising.


Steve Goldstein- Senior Financial Analyst
Steve Goldstein comes to Quantified Marketing Group with a master's degree in business administration from Rollins College and bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Michigan. His experience includes nine years of progressive financial analysis, including his most recent experience working with Darden Restaurants. Steve also spent seven years working as a consultant. He is responsible for providing business planning and financial analysis and modeling consulting for clients.


Chris Cline- Legal Affairs and Intellectual Property
Chris Cline oversees legal affairs and intellectual property entitlements for Quantified Marketing Group. Chris' expertise includes financial, managerial and technological development, trademark rights protection and contract negotiations. He worked within the film and entertainment industry for Flixn.com where he served as vice president of corporate operations and as an independent film producer for Tulchin Entertainment and Motion Pictures Association of America. Chris holds a LLM in intellectual property and media law from Southwestern Law School, a juris doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and a finance degree from the University of Florida.

Marla Suglia- Local Store Marketing Manager
Marla Suglia wears many hats at Quantified Marketing Group, assisting both marketing and culinary departments with local store marketing initiatives, training manual creation and culinary and beverage development. Marla worked for Outback Steakhouse in corporate training, unit marketing and bartending roles. She also served as a marketing manager and corporate trainer for Houlihan's Restaurant & Bar. Marla's first-hand restaurant experience enables her to approach her work from a restaurant operator's perspective.




Quantified Marketing Group beefed up its client roster adding several new national and international clients during the second quarter.

Sergio Mottola
British restaurateur Sergio Mottola engaged Quantified Marketing Group to develop an all-natural, fast-casual restaurant concept in London that will offer guests healthy meals and a simultaneous nutrition lesson about the positive effects healthful foods have on the body. The concept development department will design a prototype for the fast-casual concept and the culinary development team will create the menu.

Hofbrau Beer Garden
The famed Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany has contracted Quantified Marketing Group to engineer a menu for Hofbrau Beer Garden, a beerhouse and beer garden to open in Panama City, Florida.

Times Grill
Times GrillTimes Grill, a Louisiana-based restaurant that specializes in specialty burgers, has hired Quantified Marketing Group to assist with their expansion into Florida. The public relations team will coordinate grand opening events and generate local media exposure for Times Grill. The creative department is designing a new Web site and menus and the beverage development team is developing a line of signature adult beverages for the chain. The concept development team is creating a new interior design for Times Grill's Mandeville, Louisiana location.

Taverna OpaTaverna Opa
Taverna Opa, an interactive Greek restaurant known for its avant-garde entertainment, has hired Quantified Marketing Group to coordinate grand opening events for its new location in Orlando.


Times GrillPimento's Café & Market
Pimento's Café & Market, a fast-casual deli chain based in Tennessee, retained Quantified Marketing Group's culinary development division to revamp their menu.
